Groove metal band Methane has begun it’s fall tour for the bands new single ”Thin The Herd”, and has successfully completed the Northern European leg, they are now regrouping home in Sweden in preperation for a Southwestern U.S. run.

The band will be without guitarist Markus Grundström on this leg of the tour. ”Markus wants to be with us in the U.S., but right now due to some unforeseen circumstances he won’t be making the trip with us. He is really disapointed but he will back in the mix when we get home. But we have a great replacement for him.” says Methane singer Tim Scott

THE DIRT ON DYLAN CAMPBELL OF METHANE

Dylan Campbell Guitarist of METHANE

Live radio Interview Saturday  on Steele Savage Radio (details Below)

     dmaster

Meet Dylan: Dylan has been playing guitar for around 24 years, one of his best friends is his puggle named Buffy. Campbell is currently living in Djurås, Sweden where he works in construction. Dylan moved to Sweden in 2014 where he grounded Methane with Tim and Jimi. Dylan’s main guitar is 2009 Les Paul with silver burst, he also has a 1984 custom  BC Rich Iron Bird that he bought from Phil Fasciana of Malevolent Creation.

“My favorite thing in life is creating music other people enjoy.”

Originally born in Eureka, California, Dylan moved to northern New Jersey at six years old. He is the younger brother of Methane’s singer/bassist Tim Scott, who started Dylan’s interest in metal by giving him his first cassettes for Christmas (Metallica – Ride the Lightning, Sepultura -Beneath The remains and Pantera -Vulgar Display of Power) when he was young. That was the first fuel for Dylan’s metal blood lust. Later on, Tim bought Dylan his first guitar and amp, a used Ibanez and a small Marshall practice amp, when he was 13.

His biggest influences include Tool, Lamb of God, Pantera and Motörhead. Dylan started playing in bands in his teens in New Jersey like hard rock band Beautiful Disease, before moving to Sweden. Where he and his brother decided to create Methane.

Dylan also paints darker images on canvas as a hobby check out his art here:

“It’s really relaxing and a good way to escape the prison called life for a little bit.”

9. 2017 Funniest Tour Memory -Where is Dylan’s shoe. After waking up in the back of the van ,alone, (Dylan refused to follow us to the hotel) Dylan frantically searching for his missing shoe when we came and woke him up.  We finally found the shoe right where he apperently hid it, stuck in between the seats.

According to Tim Scott (Bassist/Vocalist) the band is currently writing new material for it’s second album. ” The new stuff is thrashier, heavier and groovier, we are loving it. Olle (Ekman) has brought a new demension to the band and our writing. We haven’t lost that Southern Metal dynamic either. I am really excited to get back in the studio. But first things first, playing live is where it the monsters come to life and where my demons feel at home.”

Methane-Liljan-Borlänge-170915-Bild01estonia 1.jpg

Methane is a hard hitting, and  unapologetic southern groove/thrash band formed in 2012 and based in Sweden. Members Tim Scott and Dylan Campbell moved from America to team with Jim Masterbo and Andreas Strom. Between 2014 and 2015, with the release of two EPs, two music videos, plus soundtrack credit on the Metalhedz mini series, and the first eNovel with music, Methane got noticed and subsequently signed by Dark Star/Sony Records in 2016. Methane’s debut album, “The Devil’s Own“, came out in February 2017 to  positive reviews. After a successful tour season, and welcoming new drummer Olle Ekman, they are preparing to assault Europe again starting in Winter 2018.
